Walk around a settlement of the Lone Army, the remnants
of Chang Kai Shek's troops, the Kuo mintang. (KMT). Over
the jungle-clad mountains continue to Mae Sai at the Burmese
border. Visit the local market and possibility to cross
into Burma to visit Tachilek.
Proceed to the heart of the Golden Triangle, where Thailand,
Laos and Burma meet. Visit the opium museum and enjoy a
thrilling boat ride around to Chiang Saen, medieval city
with some of the oldest pagodas from the region…
Visit a Hmong tribe (Meo) originally from Mongolia and
see local people boil quail eggs in hot springs. And of
course enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Chiangmai, "the
Rose of the North", with its great night bazaar...
